Breed description of the Australian Cattle Dog
The Australian Cattle Dog has Australia as the country of origin.
The breed dates back to the early 19th century.
As people looked to a strong, agile dog to help herd the cows.
At first they crossed the Collie with the Australian Dingo (a wild dog).
Later we also bred with the Dalmatian, the Kelpie and the Bull Terrier.
The result was a hybrid approach which was the goal of the nowadays known Cattle Dog.

The Australian Cattle Dog is an active, voluntary work, protective and courageous dog.
He is loyal to the boss, but sometimes reluctant to strangers.
Beside this balance, intelligence and a bit too dominant belong as well to the Australian Cattle Dog.
They can be kept easily as a family dog if they are kept properly socialized at a young age with everything and everyone around the family.
Children and pets can be good friends of him, once they meet the dog since their childhood.
The Australian Cattle Dog has some reasonable exercise.
With just walking 3 blocks you won't do him a favor.
It is very suitable for such agility, obedience and flyball.
The original work, driving of cattle, the Australian Cattle Dog will not turn away.

Males have a height of 46 to 51 cm.
